Bedroom Pavilion

Having added to this house several times before, our clients came to us for the last addition — a private world for themselves including, on the main level, a bedroom, a generous open bath and a dressing area, with a meditation room floating above. Furniture here is minimal, and all was designed by the architect. On the lower level is a gym, a massage room and storage.

Within the simple white brick gable of the addition, a wooden tower containing the meditation, dressing and massage spaces rises up through the roof. The detailing of the tower, inside and out, and of the stair that connects the three levels, has been singled out for special attention and features the extraordinary skills of the carpenter who built it.
