Our design for this criminal justice consulting firm involved the conversion of a Washington row house to three stories of offices. Elements of the historic house, such as stairs and fireplaces, were retained. New work in a more modern spirit opens up the interior from floor to floor, bringing light to every level and connecting house to garden beyond. Steel and glass coexists with period oak stairs and heart pine floors to suggest a spirit of optimism and transparency.
